About PDF Page Counter
The PDF Page Counter instantly reports how many pages, words, and characters a PDF contains, processed entirely in your browser. It is handy for checking document length before printing, estimating reading time, or verifying a file's contents.
Since the analysis uses pdf.js locally, your document is never uploaded to a server. You get accurate counts in seconds, for free, while keeping your file completely private.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are words and characters counted?
The tool reads the text layer of every page with pdf.js, joins it together, and then counts the words and non-space characters. Scanned PDFs without a text layer may report zero words.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All analysis happens in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device and stays private.
Why does my scanned PDF show no words?
Scanned documents are images without selectable text, so there is nothing to count. The page count will still be accurate.
Is there a page limit for analysis?
No fixed limit exists. Larger documents simply take a little longer to process depending on your device.
