Amazon Connect Real-time Metrics Quiz | Lesson 2

This is Lesson 2 of our Amazon Connect Real-time Metrics quiz series. It builds on Lesson 1 by testing how supervisors act on what they see: telling real-time metrics apart from historical ones, customising the dashboard, and reacting when queues build up or agents get stuck in the wrong status.

Ten questions with instant answers for supervisors, workforce managers and anyone preparing for an Amazon Connect reporting interview.

Key concepts: Amazon Connect Real-time Metrics

  • Real-time vs historical – real-time metrics describe what is happening now (contacts in queue, agent status); historical metrics summarise what happened in past intervals (contacts handled, AHT).
  • Customising tables – you can choose which metrics appear, filter by queue, routing profile or agent hierarchy, and save the view as a report for daily use.
  • Thresholds and colour alerts – real-time tables can highlight values that cross a threshold, so a supervisor notices a long queue without reading every number.
  • Agent status – the current state of each agent: Available, on contact, ACW, custom statuses such as Break, missed or error.
  • Supervisor actions – from the real-time agent view a supervisor with permission can monitor or barge into a live call and change an agent’s status.
  • Queue metrics in flows – the Get queue metrics block exposes some real-time values (such as contacts in queue) to a flow, so you can offer a callback when waits are long.

How to use this quiz

Answer the questions, then build a saved real-time report with the metrics you missed so you see them in context every day. When you score 8 out of 10 or more, move on to Amazon Connect Real-time Metrics Quiz – Lesson 3.
